Creating your professional success is actually much easier than you probably think. But creating wild, rampant and overflowing success is about more than just the business tactics you employ. To create this level of success requires much more than just doing the right things at the right time. It requires that you embrace a whole new approach and level of focus.
This approach takes the form of a simple formula made popular with the Law Of Attraction but the concepts have been around in the personal growth world for a long time now. The model describes the three critical elements of creating powerful results and roughly breaks down like this:
BE = Mindset and awareness
DO = Actions and behaviors
HAVE = Outcome and results
Essentially what this model says is that in order to create the outcome and results you desire you must perform the actions and behaviors that lead to it and hold the mindset and awareness that support it. The problem is that many people have the order mixed up and it prevents them from reaching that extreme level of success they crave.
Here are a few ways this model gets confused and leads to mediocre success or even failure:
HAVE, DO, BE Approach
Some people believe that you must first HAVE a particular set of skills, results, financial backing or tools to DO the business you want and BE the type of business person you want to be. The problem with this approach is that in order to create the starting conditions you are reliant on outside influences that are typically out of your control or that you often have to wait long periods for. In other words, your success with this approach relies on other people or events and you forego all responsibility if it doesn’t happen. That is not typically a very successful business approach.
DO, HAVE, BE Approach
Alternatively, some people take the approach that you must DO the marketing, networking or content development necessary in order to HAVE the clients and revenue you want which will allow you to BE the powerful business owner you wish to be. This approach tends to be highly reactive to situations and overly results focused. In this approach the definition of success can be easily changed by external variables and the end result can become more important than the process for getting there. This can easily create a circumstance where success is provisional on the situation remaining unchanged. This, of course, is something that rarely happens for very long. As an approach to business this can still lead to success but is not likely to lead to wild, rampant and overflowing success.
BE, DO, HAVE Approach
This approach is the way the model is designed to lead you to powerful, long term, sustainable and stable success. Using this approach you begin with BE the business person you want to be so that you can DO the actions and behaviors that person would do and HAVE the results and outcomes that type of person would have.
BE
The power of this model is that it starts with the foundation of mindset and awareness that can be easily built upon. You start by deciding the attitude, mindset and approach you want to embrace. Usually this revolves around finding a passion or core values. Defining these core values for your business helps define the approach you will use in every customer interactions and business relationship.
DO
When this foundation of approach is built the actions and behaviors naturally follow the mindset created. With defined core values and a strong business approach the marketing, products and sales tools will practically create themselves. Additionally, there will be a vast consistency and power communicated in these actions that will grab clients attention and literally magnetize them to you.
HAVE
With the BE and DO so firmly in place you might even perceive this as an “effortless” model of results because the unfolding from BE to DO to HAVE is very natural and follows one from the other. As long as you consistently manage the first to steps the last will following in ever unfolding waves of success.
So if you haven’t already reached that level of wild, rampant and overflowing success the real question becomes: What do you need to change about your mindset and what support do you need to do that?
